My-Retirement-Project
Planned Ahead? Not! But Catching Up!....Rapidly

Is there any Progress with the Retirement Project???...Maybe Yes, Maybe No, but I'm Leaning Towards the Positive Side!

I have been working on this project for several months.  As it would happen, due to corporate excesses and greed, I found myself on my own, with a lot of time on my hands.  Up to that point, I hadn't even thought about retiring.  I had only been in the Rat Race for about six years.  The company is still in a downward spiral (kind of fun to watch!) and will probably see its demise soon.  Before that, I had been self employed for about 27 years and was doing so well I was dreaming of yachts and helicopters and the like.  I thought that I could always start later and still have no problem catching up.  Maybe yes, maybe no.  That is the premise of this site. As all boomers know, the years start to fly by!  So, here I am,  collecting Social Security and wondering how the hell I got here so fast!  How did this happen?

At this point, who cares? I thought about the future and whether, at my age, I needed to keep working in a conventional manner after 43 years of employment..not!  I like what I'm doing and don't want to cut back on anything and after about a year of research, I was making some money from the Internet.  I am now beginning to see more light at the end of the tunnel and for a pleasant change, it's not a train headlight!

This website has served as the base for my efforts.  You can go to the blog @ www.my-retirement-project.blogspot.com and from there be directed to other blogs that will continue to chronicle my efforts.

I read an article that said there were 80,000,000 babyboomers. Have we all planned ahead?  Absolutely not! I know several people in the same boat as me.  Did you duplicate my planning?  Maybe yes, maybe no?  Can you imagine how we can help each other?  There are many ways to produce some income on the Internet and some don't entail a lot of cash outlay.  There will be many links on the blog to some of the opportunities that I've found.  As in "real life", there are "givers and takers".  The links that will appear will be  legitimate, helpful destinations that are not out to commit financial, Internet rape.  I've "donated" plenty to the "takers".  I intend to outline only the "opportunities"  that will be of benefit toward retirement.  If something doesn't work, I'll let you know!

This is your invitation to join me as I work toward a "comfortable" retirement.  You can bookmark this page and check it out, now and then, OR NOT!  How will you feel if you come back here and I have notified everyone that I've reached my goal and you weren't along for the ride?
